There are many proven benefits of exercise. Foremost, it
has been proved to reduce the risk of all major
diseases. It also helps to reduce and manage stress,
thus improving psychological health. Exercise promotes
lean muscle mass, which helps to maintain a healthy
weight and increase bone density. Many people report
improvements in the health of their joints as well, and
of course we all know that regular exercise makes your
heart and lungs stronger and more efficient in
delivering oxygen to your body.
Exercising, to become physically fit can bring you into
a whole new world! You’ll be able to do more things, do
them better, and most importantly you’ll be able to do
things longer into your life.
In 2005, the
United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) came
out with a new set of guidelines regarding exercise and
fitness levels. They recommend 30 minutes of moderate to
vigorous activity most days of the week. However, most
people are either unaware of this recommendation, or
they’re ignoring it.
Our bodies are designed to move, and respond very well
when stimulated with movement. Whether you’re exercising
actively, playing sports, opting to take the stairs, or
just parking your car further from the door, your body
will reward you handsomely when you stay on the move! |
